Terms

Version 2026-09-21. These terms apply when you use the Post Nights app or this site.

Post Nights estimates where your body clock is from the shifts you actually work, and tells you when to sleep. These terms say what that is, what it is not, and what each of us is responsible for. Your data is covered by the Privacy Policy, which is part of this agreement.

This is not medical advice and not a fitness-for-duty tool. Post Nights does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, it does not decide whether you are fit to work or safe to drive, and it reports nothing to your employer. For medical advice, a diagnosis or treatment, speak to a healthcare professional.

Who can use it

You need to be 18 or over. Post Nights is built for adults doing shift work, and it is not designed or offered for children.

What the app does

You tell us the shifts you work — by typing them, by connecting a schedule feed your employer publishes, or by letting the app read a calendar you choose. From those, a published circadian model estimates where your body clock sits and places sleep, naps, light and a warning about driving after a long stretch awake.

The model behind the estimate is accurate to about an hour in laboratory studies that measured the light people saw. We estimate your light from your roster, which is less precise. That is enough to place a nap and a pair of sunglasses. It is not enough to name a precise time, and we never present it as one.

What it is not

Your account

You can use Post Nights without giving us an email address. If you add one, it exists so your plan survives a lost phone, and it is the only identifier we ask for.

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping any sign-in link or code to yourself. A schedule-feed link is a key to your whole roster — anyone holding it can read your shifts without a password — so treat it as you would a password, and disconnect it in the app if you think it has been shared.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting is permanent.

Subscriptions

Some features may require a paid subscription. Where they do:

What we ask of you

Use the app for yourself, lawfully. Do not try to break it, break into it, or use it to hold or move data about other people — a unit roster naming your colleagues is their information, not yours to upload.

Changes to the app and to these terms

The app changes as it is built, and features may be added, altered or withdrawn. If we change these terms in a way that affects you materially, we will say so in the app rather than editing this page quietly. If we change how your data is used in a way that needs your agreement, we ask again — every consent you give is stored with the version of the words you were shown.

Ending it

You can stop using Post Nights and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end access if these terms are being broken, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give you what notice we reasonably can and a way to export your data.

Disclaimers

Post Nights is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, that notifications or alarms will always be delivered on time or at all, or that the body-clock estimate will be accurate for you in particular. Sleep and alertness depend on a great many things this app cannot see.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Post Nights LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from missed sleep, a missed shift, a missed notification or alarm, or a decision you made with the app's help.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or US$50 if you paid us nothing.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you may have rights under your local consumer law that these terms cannot take away.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Travis County, Texas have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, or of the right to bring a claim there.

Apple and Google

These terms are between you and Post Nights LLC, not with Apple or Google. Neither store is responsible for the app or for supporting it. Where a store's own end-user licence terms apply to your download, and they conflict with these terms on a point that store requires, that store's terms govern on that point.
